An Introduction to Flange Joints

There is a wide range of flange joints. Flange rubber joints, flange expansion joints, flange force transmission joints and flange hose joints are collectively known as the flange joint. It is connected by the flange and has many kinds of materials. The right flange joint can be selected according to its material.
Flange Joints
Flange rubber joints have small size, light weight, good elasticity, convenient installation and maintenance, transverse, axial and angular displacement during installation, no limitation of pipe eccentricity and nonparallel flanges, reduced structure borne noise during operation, and strong shock and vibration absorption.

The advantage of flange expansion joints is that when the external temperature changes, the pipe can make itself freely expand or contract within the expansion and contraction quantity, so as to ensure the safe operation of the pipe.

The flange force transmission joint can not only effectively compensate for the thrust of pipes and blind plates, but also facilitate the installation, maintenance and replacement of pumps and valves. Thus, it is really the most ideal auxiliary products in the pipeline industry.

The flange hose joint has good flexibility and fatigue resistance. In pipe systems, it is able to compensate for large displacement.

For bolted flange joints working at high temperature for a long time, due to the creep relaxation of sealing gaskets and bolts, the residual stress on gaskets gradually decreases and the sealing reliability of flange joints decreases by degrees, which eventually leads to leakage.

To deal with seal failures of flange joints, the high-temperature sealant can be used. It is suitable for working conditions with high requirements on temperature and pressure of smooth and flat sealing surfaces (butt joints). And it is especially suitable for sealing metal joints such as flange joints and the joint used for steam turbines, gas turbines, compressors, and pumps. The sealant is resistant to hot steam, gas, hot and cold water, light fuel oil, lubricant, crude oil and natural gas up to 900℃. Excellent adhesion between the sealing surface and the joint can ensure the pressure resistance up to 250 bar (255kg/cm2).
