Four Methods of Pipeline Connection

The connecting ways of pipe, pipe connecting parts and valves rely on the nature of the fluid, pressure, temperature, pipe material, size and where it is installed. The methods include thread connection, flange connection, the socket connection and welding connection.
(1) Threaded connection is mainly suitable for small diameter pipeline. When connected, the thread connection part needs to be stripped by fluorine plastic sealing or coated with thick paint, linen, silk to prevent leakage. When under more than 1.6 million mpa pressure, the pipe end generally needs gasket seal. This kind of connection method is simple, you can remove it and reinstall, but joint must be installed in the proper place of the pipe, in order to install and uninstall.
(2) The flange connection: the diameter of the applicable scope is bigger. When connected, we should choose different flange sealing gaskets according to the nature of the fluid, pressure and temperature, and keep sealing by gasket bolt clamping. Flange connection is often used in the part which often needs to be installed and uninstalled.
(3) The socket connection: the method is used in the connection of cast iron pipe, concrete and clay pipe. It is only applicable under low pressure and normal temperature for water supply, water drainage and gas pipes. When connected, we usually fill the linen, silk, cotton, or asbestos rope at the groove of the socket, then fill with materials such as asbestos cement and use rubber sealing ring to make it more flexible. A little move of the pipe is allowed.
(4) Welding connection: the connection strength and impermeability of this method is best, and is suitable for various pipelines, saving work and materials, but when uninstalled, the pipe and the pipe connection must be cut off.
