High-pressure Elbow Connection and Application

The pipe fittings of high-pressure elbow include a curved pipe bending, whose characteristic is having a connection of a shunt straight channel. It has reasonable structure, equal piping stress evenly, simple pipeline system, convenient operation, cheap investment, which can reduce the pipeline resistance, optimize pipeline arrangement and is helpful to reduce operation cost and balance air distribution, reduce piping vibration, so as to ensure the safe operation of the equipment and pipeline.

 

Its materials: cast iron, stainless steel, alloy steel, carbon steel, nonferrous metals, plastic and so on.

 

Connection methods: direct welded, flange connection, thread connection and socket and spigot joint.

 

Manufacturing technologies: welded elbow, punched elbow and cast elbow, etc.

 

Application precautions: 

1. Electrode should be kept dry, for example, titanium calcium type should be dried for 1 hour under 150 ℃ and low hydrogen type should be dried for 1 hour under 200-250 ℃ drying. It is used to prevent the covering of weld rod from contacting oil and other dirt and affects the quality of weldment.

 

2. When the high-pressure elbow is being welded, repeat heating will make it separate out carbide, which may reduce its corrosion resistance and mechanical property.

 

3. To prevent it from sudden corrosion, the welding current should not be too large, which should be 20% less than carbon steel welding rod. 

 

4. High pressure elbow is harder after welding, so it is easy to crack. If adapting the same type high pressure elbow welding, it must be over 300℃ preheated and 700℃ cooling after welding. If the weldment cannot undertake heat treatment after welding, you should choose high elbow electrode.
