Introduction to Pipe Joints

The pipe joint is a connecting tool between pipes. It plays an indispensable role in pipe fittings and is one of the two main components of hydraulic pipes. Pipe joints are used for line connection of instruments. The connection forms are socket weld and threaded connection. The pipe joint is mainly used for small-diameter low-pressure pipelines, for parts that need to be frequently assembled and disassembled, or for the final adjustment of pipelines using threaded pipe fittings. Metallic seals should be adopted, and gasket sealing, made from malleable cast iron, is usually used in general pipelines for transporting water, oil and air. In addition, the application requirement and price are also the factors to be considered when you select the pipe joint.

There are many kinds of pipe joints. Commonly used pipe joints can be divided into hard pipe joints and hose joints. According to the connection type of pipe joints and pipes, there are three types of hard pipe joints: flared type, ferrule type and welded type.

As the pipe joint is a detachable connecting element, it should meet the requirements of a stable connection, strong sealing, reasonable size, small pressure loss, good process and so on, and also meet the requirements of convenient disassembly and assembly. Therefore, don't underestimate the small pipe joints, because only their existence can support the existence of the whole hydraulic system.
