What Is Pipe Cap?

A pipe cap is a protective device used to safeguard pipe ends of different shapes, primarily to waterproof connections. They are applied to seal hydraulic or pneumatic pipe and tube ends and find use in domestic, commercial, and industrial water supply systems, machinery, and processing equipment. Additionally, pipe caps are employed on water pump lines to eliminate air blocks, making pipe caps a crucial category of pipe fittings in high demand.

Types of Pipe Caps

End Cap: This is a simple, flat cap used to close the end of a pipe securely.
Socket Weld Cap: Designed for socket-weld pipes, this cap fits over the pipe's outer diameter and is welded in place.
Threaded Cap: A cap with internal threads to screw onto the external threads of a pipe, offering easy installation and removal.
Butt-Weld Cap: Used for butt-welded pipes, it is welded directly to the pipe's end, creating a strong, leak-proof seal.
Domed Cap: This type of cap has a domed shape, which is often used for aesthetic or protective purposes.
