What Is Pipe Reducer?

A pipe reducer is a specific pipe fitting applied in piping systems to join pipes of distinct diameters or sizes. It's crafted for the purpose of either diminishing the pipe's diameter from larger to smaller (known as a concentric reducer) or expanding it from smaller to larger (referred to as an eccentric reducer). Pipe reducers ensure a continuous and effective flow of fluids or gases within the piping system while adapting to shifts in pipe size or system demands.

Types of Pipe Reducers

Concentric Reducer: A concentric reducer has a conical shape, aligning the center of the smaller end with the center of the larger end to provide a uniform and direct flow transition.
Eccentric Reducer: Similarly conical, an eccentric reducer features the smaller end offset from the center of the larger end. It is employed for drainage or venting needs, maintaining a downward slope for fluid control.
